Foxgloves are profoundly tied to the realm of the Fae. Long ago people would strew foxglove leaves around the cradles of babies to protect them from evil spirits. Legends say that the speckled, bell-shaped flowers were worn by fairies as hats or gloves. Because the flowers were sacred to the Fae, picking them was believed to bring bad luck and misfortune.
